Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Houston, Houston Grotech is a family-owned commercial landscape company. Todd Minnis started the company more than 40 years ago and still shows up for work every day. His son, John Minnis, serves as Vice President and represents the second generation of continuous family ownership. Houston Grotech has never been bought, sold, or acquired.
Today we maintain more than 1,600 commercial properties across Greater Houston for over 300 active clients, from hospital campuses and county facilities to office parks, churches, and city rights-of-way.
Every part of the work is done by our own crews. We don’t subcontract mowing or grounds labor. Our team includes horticulturists, licensed irrigators, licensed pesticide applicators, and experienced arborists, along with uniformed ground crews who return to the same properties each visit. Our foremen have all been with us at least ten years, and our crew supervisors and office staff average more than a decade.
Todd and John are both directly reachable, not routed through an account manager. That access, along with a dedicated Fast Response Coordinator and 24-hour emergency service, is why clients stay with us for decades.
From Our Clients
Grotech provides essential landscaping and maintenance services to Harris County Flood Control. Their services help ensure our office facilities remain well-maintained while also supporting field operations throughout the county. In addition to routine office maintenance, Grotech assists with mowing county buyout lots and removing miscellaneous debris. Their ability to provide both scheduled maintenance and field support helps Harris County Flood Control maintain its properties in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.
Both the City of Deer Park’s Public Works Dept. & Recreation Dept. have held contracts with Houston Grotech (Seril Inc.). I work for the Public Works Department and we are under contract with Houston Grotech for mowing services on some of the drainage easements. Parks & Recreation has used them for mowing street right-of-ways and medians. We have never had an issue working with them. They are quick to respond and easy to work with. I would very highly recommend them.
I have used Houston Grotech for many years on multiple campuses and have always had great service. They go above and beyond to make sure each site looks good and they are very responsive to all of our needs.
